« on: April 21, 2008, 11:21:42 PM »
OK
I dont know why but the laptop...my main machine at the minute is confused about the internet. It is only allowing me to access sites i have saved as my favs and sometimes Internet Explorer lets me go online. I have tried cleaning my cache and so on and similar things but with no success. Now I was thinking is it a virus?I installed virus protection and scanned many times, phishing is on,firewall is on.Any ideas??This laptop is my university 1.....(not theirs mine) so before you get thinking no theres no porn or hardcore content on that,....its clean   :afro1:

Anyway can anyone help??

Quite possibly security levels may be way too high, have you tried the same sites using firfox (the best browser).

Also what version of IE are you using?

Please do not “PM” me for support unless I have asked you to do so, otherwise it will be deleted and ignored.

IE 7
Firefox 2.0.0.14
Tried turning phishing on and off
Tried having firewall on and off
cleared cache
scanned for virus
done all the obvious things like unplugging wiress andstill no luck
Security isn set to medium, which is my usual. I have set it to low and still no luck...

now i couldnt tell if this was a legit buffer error or a popup error, popups can be very realistic these days
